What’s one belief or value that has guided you in every major decision?
“Impact over optics.”
Whether it’s designing a CX strategy, launching a social campaign, or leading a team through change. I’ve always believed in choosing what creates real value, not just what looks good on a slide. This mindset comes from my training in Carnatic music, where the shruti must be felt, not flaunted. The same applies to leadership if it doesn’t resonate, it doesn’t matter.
How do you balance family life with your demanding professional role?
Honestly, it’s not a balance, it’s a rhythm. Like a tala cycle in Carnatic music sometimes family takes the beat, sometimes work. But the flow must remain seamless. My son’s smile, my wife’s strength, and my mother’s quiet wisdom they anchor me. I make sure to show up fully wherever I am whether in a boardroom or a bedtime story with my son.
Was there a turning point in your career that defined everything that followed?
Yes moving from execution to influence.
Early on, I was focused on getting things done, faster and better. But a turning point came when I realized the true power lies in inspiring action, not just driving it. From then, I stopped just chasing KPIs and started building cultures of ownership, empathy, and growth. That changed everything.
What advice would you give to your 25-year-old self-starting out in marketing or CX?
“Don’t try to fit into the brand. Become the voice behind it.”
Back then, I thought it was all about perfecting the copy or hitting the campaign deadline. Today, I know CX and marketing are not about perfection they’re about emotion, connection, and momentum. I’d tell myself: Listen more. Read customer comments like poetry or a Raga. And never be afraid to rewrite the rules.
If you could describe your life philosophy in one sentence, what would it be?
Don’t just make noise when you can make music that moves people. I believe in holding onto my core values integrity, impact, inclusiveness but also dancing with change, improvising with courage, and leading with soul.
