The India DevOps Show 2022 was organized and hosted by Quantic India. The Show was scheduled on 7th of December at Courtyard by Marriott.

DevOps is an abbreviation of “development operations,” which consists of a set of procedures and tools that integrates development (Dev) and IT operations (Ops). The purpose of this is to release only necessary changes and exploits. Techs in India will cooperate with each other at the India DevOps Convention in order to increase delivery and improve the quality of the software.

Key Highlights of the Panel Discussion:

  • DevOps is evolving to involve more macro-level analysis and industry standards are converging.
  • According to the panellists, the biggest shift in terms of transformation is that the approach to DevOps has been changed from a capex to a performance based models.
  • Additionally the panellists discussed how DevOps teams are empowered to use more of sophisticated technologies such as source code commit tools and performance monitoring in order to improve the efficiency and reduce the costs.
  • Further More there was a discussion regarding the potential for conflict between DevOps teams and also shares advise on creating an harmonious DevOps culture
  • The panellists discusses the importance of cultural and technical integrations between Dev & Ops, and how these two groups must work together to maintain the quality and speed simultaneously.
  • The Panel discussed the importance of standardization & automation in order to achieve quality & speed and also noted that the AI and automations can help identify vulnerabilities in the code before they become a problem.
  • Take into account when migrating DevOps to Cloud which involves cloud adoption, data migration & Security.
  • How tools can be helpful in data migration, but also becomes a problem if they are too numerous or used indiscriminately.
  • Standardized tooling and automation can help reduce the risk of tool sprawl and security vulnerabilities. They also discussed how the security concerns are particularly relevant in the banking and insurance industries.
  • The Panellists also discussed the importance of security and how it can be a salient feature in an of the DevOps projects & also advised about prioritizing which features to include in a DevOps project and urging the project teams to make customer centric approach

Conclusion

Lastly there were some takeaway advice shared by the panelists for the audience, Do what is best for the customers, what is best for the Company and what is good for the team, Customers, Company & Team Should be the order. Customer decides the Quality. 

The round Table session was a great success, with the discussion being extremely informative.
