The 3rd Annual Warehouse & Logistic Excellence Awards 2022, organized and hosted by Quantic India. The Show was scheduled on 15th December at Hotel Holiday Inn. With the supply chain industry experiencing significant changes, the rate of adaptation of all operations is difficult to measure at each step of the process. The task has gotten increasingly convoluted from the time of inventory management, sustainable product development and post-pandemic demand forecasting complexity.
The panel discussion provided these key highlights:

- The panellists discussed the importance of speed, sustainability, and efficient transportation in the logistics industry, the importance of standardization and the role of government in accelerating this process.
- The panel discussed the need for standardization in order to reduce costs and make the logistics industry more efficient. They suggested that the government work to create a common platform for tracking trucks and railways, as well as develop better infrastructure in railway terminals.
- The panellists discussed the importance of time and cost in logistics, and how these factors need to be considered when planning an industry-wide policy. They also mentioned the importance of infrastructure in the future of the sector.
- Leader’s discussed the problem statement for Pharma industry and how multimodal transportation can solve it & also discussed the need for standardization in the industry and how multimodal transportation can help with that.
- Importance of standardizing transportation, and how Unilever is working to do just that. It also touches on the importance of Last Mile connectivity, and how it’s important to have different types of trucks in order to manage different types of products.
- The speaker’s reviews the various types of warehouses and how technology can be used to improve efficiency and service. They discussed the need for a business case for technology investments, and suggest implementing a “smart warehousing” concept.
- The panel discussed the importance of digitalization, HR policies, and cost competitiveness in the Indian logistics industry. They highlighted the need for private industry collaboration to reach sustainability goals.
- The panel discusses how rail transportation must have common platforms for communication and real-time data in order to ensure efficient and timely movements of goods. They also mentioned that the role of logistics technology companies will continue to increase in the coming years as the need for cost-effective and speedy Last Mile delivery increases.
