A book that has significantly influenced my approach to cybersecurity and leadership is “Cybersecurity and Cyberwar: What Everyone Needs to Know” by P.W. Singer and Allan Friedman. One of the key insights from this book is the importance of bridging both the importance of bridging technical and strategic perspectives in cybersecurity, helping me align business objectives with effective security measures.

What is your favourite sport to play, and what do you enjoy most about it?

When it comes to my favourite sport, badminton stands out. I enjoy its fast-paced nature and strategic gameplay, which continually sharpen my reflexes and decision-making under pressure.

If you could give one piece of financial advice to your younger self, what would it be and why?

If I could give one piece of financial advice to my younger self, it would be to start investing early and diversify. The power of time in the market is immense, and by diversifying the investments, One can minimized risk while maximizing potential returns.

If you had the chance to start your career all over again, what would you do differently, and why?

Looking back, if I had the chance to start my career over again, I would focus on gaining hands-on technical experience earlier. A deeper technical foundation would have accelerated my understanding of cybersecurity nuances and enhanced my leadership effectiveness.

If you weren’t a CISO, what other career path do you think you would have pursued and why?

If I weren’t in a CISO role, I would likely have pursued a career as an freelancer or mentor in technology and cybersecurity. I have always enjoyed sharing knowledge and helping others grow.
