What does a typical weekend look like for a senior leader like you, balancing work responsibilities and personal time?

As a senior leader in DevOps and SRE, weekends are a balance between recharging and staying connected to the team’s needs. Ideally, I spend my weekends with family, unwinding from the busy week, and focusing on personal hobbies like reading or cycling. However, there’s always a part of me that stays tuned in to critical operations, as unexpected issues can arise. I’ve set up systems with my teams to minimize the need for my direct involvement on weekends, but if there’s a significant problem, I’m ready to step in.

If you weren’t a C-suite leader, what career path would you have chosen instead?

If I weren’t in a leadership role in tech, I might have pursued something more creative or hands-on, like architecture. It’s the perfect blend of creativity and problem-solving, where you can see the impact of your work in the real world.

What is the one piece of life advice you would like to share with others as an individual?

As for life advice, I always tell people: Stay curious and adaptable. In life and work, things change constantly, and being open to learning new things keeps you resilient and ready for any challenge.

What is the one book you would recommend to others and why do you believe it’s a must-read?

One book I recommend is “The Lean Startup” by Eric Ries. It’s a must-read for anyone in tech or business because it focuses on building products and solutions that adapt to real-world needs, testing ideas early, and improving based on feedback.

Who is your role model, and what qualities or achievements of theirs inspire you the most?

My role model is Elon Musk, not just for his innovations, but for his sheer determination and resilience. What inspires me the most is his ability to think big and push the boundaries of what’s possible, even when faced with failure or skepticism? That level of persistence is something I try to emulate.
